Help please. There's a lot of the outer rim missing on the obverse & reverse of this 2015 D Lincoln Cent. Could this be from a defective planchet or defective copper plating? Thanks in advance for any info!! I'm still pretty new to coin collecting so any advice is greatly appreciated!!

@jack, for sure these are areas when the copper plating was removed or perforated in circulation. When the underlying zinc core was exposed, it began to deteriorate. This coin would be a spender for me.
