Star Note Silver Certificate

The last of the $1 SCs before $1 FRNs were introduced in 1963. It's cool that it's a replacement note, but there's not much value in it because of its condition.

@Johnsolaris, the 1957 blue seal star notes are really cool to find. My dad had a bunch of them even a set of 5 consecutive serial numbers, condition is everything (like Steve noted). Ones in circulated state don't have much value, ones in F and lower grade are usually worth only face. My dealer when he gets a lot of them will give them out as change. He has a large box filled with circulated silver certificates.

In March 1964, Secretary of the Treasury C. Douglas Dillon halted redemption of silver certificates for silver dollar coins; during the following four years, silver certificates were redeemable in uncoined silver "granules". All redemption in silver ceased on June 24, 1968
