Greetings, I'm 62 years old and retired United States Air Force. I've collected coins by throwing them in a box since I was 10. So may I have are over 50 years old. Finally going through them. Got a lot to learn but having fun. I'll start posting a few just to get some ideas of what to share.
@MajorPat.... My suggestion would be to start w/ your most unique coins, especially if they look different (for whatever reason) from other coins with the same mint mark/year.
So what is you like about collecting coins? The search for the holy grail? Getting rich? Buffering inflation? Just having pretty stuff? What have seen people look for when collecting and why?
Well to CCF, you will find quite a few Veterans floating around here, I too, spent 12 years going from one FOB to another up intil I became injured enough to warrant a Med discharge back in 1991.
@dearborn. Thank you also for your service. I'm one of the lucky, I spent 20 years in the Air Force and never got shot at. But I did my share of hoping FOB's in Europe during the cold war. What an amazing time that was. But I digress from coins. I think I'm going to like being part of this community.
