Hi,

I noticed this 1949 penny is heavier than I think it should be.
It weighs 3.34g when normal pennies are supposed to be 3.24g. It is also a bit thicker than a regular 1949 penny. Maybe an error coin?

Thanks.

I will like to the the word Gratia. 1947 to 1949 penny was in some how special.

Quote:
The 1948 and 1949 one cent coin can have a variety in which the obverse has a final A of GRATIA between two denticles or point directly at a denticle which makes the coin rare.

and also was two kind of alloys and two different Dies Design, left is what you say normal and right the heavy.
