I have quite a bit of these of various sizes, with different dates and other denominations stamped into them. Was this practice only happening under Philip IV? Were only certain coins counterstamped? I know I can read all about these as they pertain to Philip IV, I just wasn't sure if they're exclusive to his time and only certain donors were used.

Thanks!

This might be better served in the World Coins forum, there are quite a few people there who are very experienced with cobs and other Spanish coinage (reales)
