Found this on ebay. Just arrived today. They missed stamping the back core. Attached front image, and 2 images of the error. Pretty excited to find something like this.

I believe that is one of the coloured core (painted) coins, where the paint and cross hatching has been ground off.

You can see a bit of the cross hatching at the edges of the core.

Since the core and the rim are struck together, as if it were one coin, I don't see how it could happen, unless as SPP describes above. You can see the grinding/file marks on both pieces of the coin. Maybe the owner has gotten as tired of colored RCM crap as I am and he took it into his own hands to correct it.

I would say there is a possibility that the paint was removed from it. microscopic scratches on it, but it is what it is. I still like it. looks good in my book. Thanks for input. I didnt even realize at 1st that the painted version was not painted over the raised image.
