Hope this doesn't turn out like the red pennies I asked about.... here goes nothing. I have a 1966 dime that appears black in color. It weights 2.22 grams....I'm not saying it's anything special or even an error. I know another was posted but it was apparently in a fire? If that's the case here I apologize. Can someone please tell me why it would look black? Thank you   Edited by Girlinlove

Agree--toning caused by environmental exposure. In my decades of coin roll searching, I've seen hundreds of dimes similar to this--pieces from the 60s through the 90s.

I agree withe the above, but the dime does have some of what we call circulation cameo. http://goccf.com/t/129321It does not really add value, but it is a keeper as an example.  |

I figured it was nothing special I was genuinely curious so thank you all for helping me out on this one! Still learning and soaking up everything I can. Are there any dimes that are worth anything? My guess would be no but never know unless you ask right? Thanks again!
