This was a recent ebay purchase that I made trying to cherrypick the O-110 die pairing. Unfortunately, I believe this coin has been cleaned (I couldn't tell from the ebay pictures) and I am going to likely return it. But in the meantime, what does everyone think? I coin is in a ICG slab and I can't remove it for better pictures since the coin is likely going back.

I'm no expert on early American coins, but I think it's a Capped Bust, not a Draped Bust. All the PCGS catalog examples have some type of patina. It's awfully clean for a coin that is 216 years old, and that metal looks really pristine. I get a dissonant feeling when I look at that coin, but like I said, I am early in the learning stage on these coins. Looking forward to the discussion.

Doing terrible with this today... ICG, not ICQ. Either way not a reputable slabber and it doesn't really matter since I would have broke it out anyway.

I would like to know though if people think EF details, AU details, or something else.

ICG is reputable as far as I know, if not top tier

Looks AU details, probably dipped and wiped at some point based on the hairlines, but it's far from unattractive

Thanks everyone, let me ask a slightly different question.

Do you think this is a good example for $780 (ignoring the rarity of the die pairing R4+/R5)?

Also, since Coinfrog asked, here is my attempt at some brighter images.

AU details. I feel like it would be at least a 55 if straight graded as 08s suffer from striking issues. Good value? That is up to you.

It is currently in a EF45 ICG slab, I am really just debating whether I return it or not to the ebay seller.

If I keep it, I would either break it out and keep it raw or send it to PCGS to add the O-110 attribution.

Agree with EF-45, don't have a good feel for whether it's been cleaned.
