Cool how the patination brings out a sort of bug-eyed look.

Here he is on a 1626 1/4 thaler struck in Gdansk:

Yes buy-eyed, but do you think that someone added the pupil after this coin left the mint?

Interesting that the date wraps from one side of your coin to the other @tdz. I'm not sure that I've noticed that before on a coin.

very nice adds folks!

@ tdz - I like how they split the date to both sides on the coin. (16 on obv, 26 on rev)

Not a great picture, but it's the same as Spence's coin, except with the date as "Z6"

I've never thought about that. I think the Gdansk orts had a lot of variety on how the date was dislpayed (I have a couple more coming up over the next 10 years, so let's see).
Also, could be a good gallery topic "Post Your Coins with Divided Dates."

Also Poland for me today, 1624 1/4 thaler:

If we do this, then we will need to make it clear that we aren't just looking for coins with the date on both sides because then we will get a bunch of Magician's coins I think.

Yes, I was thinking more of things like that Gdansk coin, and also the one you just posted, where the numerals in the date get divided by some other device, often a coat of arms, sometimes other things.
But not "dually dated" coins (date on both sides), where we already have a thread.
