Remember not every small change on a cent is an error.... most of the time just wear and tear.

edited: however you are lucky if you get to search a majority of Philly minted coins, because here on the west coast Denver makes very few errors

It may be due to the aforementioned occurrences or it may be caused by a slightly below ideal strike pressure or slightly below ideal planchet thickness (mass). Either way, it's within the realm of normal operations when striking coins.
