The obverse shows the Papal heraldic achievement with Barberini Bees as the main device - my favourite! The reverse shows St Peter and St Paul standing, keys and book in left hands,radiate dove above, Mintmaster arms between RO and MA. . This coin was struck during the War of the Spanish Succession, when much of Europe was embroiled in financial as well as civil turmoil. The motto "NON CONCVPISCES ARGENTVM" ("Thou shalt not covet silver") may have been a reference to monetary stability as well as the usual admonition about greed and avarice.
