Early last week at the Shop we got a mailer to purchase a book by Mike Buyers called " The Worlds Greatest Mint Errors " and the Shop owner gave it to me since I have grown to like the errors and varieties you can find when you get to see thousands of coins..thousands of coins...thousands of coins...sorry ...anyway... The Shop owner has a box of error coins that he keeps tucked away in the vault , and every once in awhile He will pull out something for the regulars (and Myself ) to drool over !

This coin had him waxing nostalgic, apparently He saw this coin when He was very young ( I think He said 12) and was fascinated by it. When He encountered the coin again after becoming a coin dealer He purchased it for 70 dollars- a bargain at todays prices for sure ! The Mike Buyers book mentioned here lists a no date nickel like this at $5000

To make a short story longer, I bought the book and here is the coin...It is not slabbed, but it is in a holder.

To see a coin with an error that can't be missed, and to have so much wear makes you wonder how many people had it and just passed is on!
It's one in a million or should I say ten million or more.
Thanks for sharing, it's really cool.

Wow, that is a really cool error. It is interesting to me as well that it clearly circulated for a awhile and that both Liberty's are close to same degree of wear- I'd expect the edge Liberty to have greater wear.

Looks like 1900. You can see the second 0 a little to the left of being between the two stars.
