Quote: I know the market for world type sets is a niche market but seeing a reprint of Canadian, Mexico and British (pre decimal) would be great! I would love to complete a Dansco Canadian type set.

Quote: It exists. The number is 7210. Rephrased: I would love to complete a brand new, never used Dansco Canadian type set album. (The person I quoted was requesting a reprint, so that should have been inferred.) None of the dealers have them new. Used ones on ebay are hundreds of dollars. You can miss me with that.

Only eight employees - no wonder they are not too fast producing albums! They had more employees in that picture from back in the day. It's nice that the company continues to be a family business, but they are obviously not trying to maximize output or profit. If I were running the company, I would at least have an online store.
Why did they move locations? Was it for tax reasons?

There was a long story, IIRC, the company was a publisher that got into the albums as a sideline. When some older members of the family retired, the album business is continuing, but they wanted a slower pace than LA offered.

Dansco seems to be cursed by floods.

I'm really curious go why they don't make more Canadian coinage albums.
An album for Canadian cents and nickels would be fantastic.

Quote: Sumas, WA (and other cities in Western Washington) have been hard hit by flooding in the past several days. . . I saw that reported this weekend. After the last flood, I hope they created a plan to protect equipment, inventory, etc.

Quote: I'm really curious go why they don't make more Canadian coinage albums. I have to assume, lack of demand. Quote: An album for Canadian cents and nickels would be fantastic. It would. I suggest letting them know. It could not hurt. If anything, they might consider it. Also, I know they used to print up custom binders and pages on request. Might not hurt to ask them about that, too.

I would like to see Dansco make more Mexico Libertad 1 Onza albums - the 'after market' ones really suck, and are expensive.

This is just awful. When I visited, I mentally noted how all their machinery were on the same elevation as the road. The owners showed me the water line on the wall from the 2021 flood. As their operations take place in a converted grocery store, they use the previous grocery aisle to hold materials on shelves. It wouldn't surprise me if some of their machines weigh more than a ton. They told me that they were really worried the last flood would be the end of the company. I fear this may be the final blow. We'll have to wait and see. If folks here want to, you can leave a message/note for the Dansco family here. [Bottom of the page] https://www.danscousa.com/contact-us/#comments
