I thought I would start a thread were people and show where things went wrong in relation to purchasing coins.

I bought this LWC to fill one of the remaining 6 slots I am missing in my album. (I put a BU reverse Wheat cent in the hole and have the slabs in a case)
Anyway I found this very nice and unique 1913 D LWC. I was hardly able to wait for it to arrive... until a few days later when I got a message from the vendor on ebay that they were unable to find this coin to ship it to me. What a bummer!

I get it...it happens, even to respected dealers. Just wish I did not win this bad lottery. LOL

I think it's a worthy idea. Searching for valuable coins carries many little bumps and bruises. I have posted a few auctions where I either bungled my bidding or got smoked trying to acquire a cool coin.

It does occur to me that this thread might find more attention in the Post Your category.

Anyway, this 2002-S proof nickel was a mishap for me. Not an expensive one, fortunately. I thought I had spotted some kind of cool mint error on ebay. The obverse had some raised features, and the reverse is slightly misaligned.

Turns out, the coin was just damaged. Most likely post-strike (as opposed to post-mint), but damage nonetheless.

Back in 03 or so, I would watch the great Coin Vault, on TV and started with a buy of, four, 60+, Morgans. The count was right for $100. It took awhile, lets say, this week, that I would double my money. I stopped buying there and glad I did pick some things up, elsewhere. Haven't bought anything in almost decades, unfortunately.
