I just got this coin today in the mail. I bought it from EERC/Rick Snow. According to Rick, only 30 known examples have been identified. I have a couple of the Snow 1 overdates, but I thought I would never get my hands on a Snow 7 overdate. I think the coin is AU, and Rick said it was cleaned. I just wanted to share this with the community since it is so rare.

WOW! Cleaned or not She's a Beauty! I'd go AU55 condition wise not taking into consideration the "cleaning".

Fantastic coin and beautiful to my eye.

I can't see the cleaning, but am not going to get into a debate on the topic with Rick Snow.

a beautiful looking coin.

I'm not all that familiar with the Snow varieties, so what makes this a Snow 7 vs a Snow 1?
does it have something to do with the 'E' of 'ONE' on the reverse being open?

Thanks for the interest in my new coin. Snow 1 has a broken wingtip and the tip of the 7 to the right of the last 8. There is also a die chip/remanent midway between the eagles breast and first 8.

The S7 overdate is really subtle since there is no broken wingtip and the overdate marks are smaller then S1. The last 8 has the tip of the 7 just above and to the right of the 8. The other overdate mark is the tip(flag) of the 1 to the left of the stamped 1. The first 4 letters of UNITED are doubled.

I have a theory on why this over date is so scarce. First of all it wasn't identified until 1994. The second point is that it is a weaker over date when compared to the Snow 1 over date. That being said, any coins with a grade below XF will probably have the over date worn off. I looked at the PCGS graded inventory and almost all the coins graded were at or above XF. This is a tough coin to cherry pick.
