So I landed this somewhat mess of a coin that I'm identifying as a 24-P, but on a close examination it looks like there could be another coin underneath it. Could be my imagination and the amount of corrosion but it seems there are possibly letters from another coin at top of obverse and a design of some kind from another coin around the shield on the reverse. Someone tell me there's a Nova Constellatio under this NJ lol. Edited by Bdlc 11/28/2025 12:14 pm

Its overstruck. On what? Need to decipher by hand. C4 Convention. Ship it to an expert. O/S on M.24-P may be unique? John Lorenzo, Numismatist, USA.

Thank you. Funny you said that, I just sent Carol at C4 the image to take a look at it and she hopes to have more info for me on it this afternoon.

An interesting piece @bdlc. I'm hoping to see you update this thread when you get a more definitive opinion on what was overstruck to create this.

Thanks, I will do that. There's a couple people here that might know but haven't been around for a week or so. Hoping they might have some insight.

Looks like a partial c/s to me ..... "J.O W ...." (tiny letters, under 2mm)

A "Counter Stamp" I'm guessing is what you mean by c/s. I don't really see that, interesting.
