23 mm, 3.70 grams. Old tag is obviously not correct. They had no internet etc. From an old collection I am going through with most coins listed at $3 to $5 back in the day which is fun. But this one I want help on if you folks would be so kind.

If I had to make up something I would have written byzantine 40 nummi of the sixth century, cut and corroded.
But I do not think it is that. It would be smaller. The remains looking like an M is an accident.

@lou, just spitballing here, but I wonder if this wasn't originally from The Elymais Kingdom. As you likely know, the copper Drachmae sometimes (e.g. Orodes III) have a frizzy-haired, front-facing bust with an anchor to the right. The reverse is a just a series of peck marks. Something like this:

Of course, this one would have been sanded down from roughly circular to this interesting triangular shape. I'm hoping someone else will weigh in with a better answer because I have pretty low confidence that I'm correct.
