I am not sure if the 1954 has the "Devil's Hair", I was wondering about your opinion about that, and I was wondering if there are any ways to detect if they are counterfeit or not. WpgLwr Pillar of the Community Canada 1082 Posts	Posted 07/08/2009 4:56 pm Nope, wrong signature combination for a Devil. They're found on much older notes with signatures Coyne-Towers and Beattie-Coyne. Your Bouey-Rasminsky dates from the early 70s and is the second last signature combination for the '54 series, the last being Lawson-Bouey. Additionally, your '73 dates from the early '80s with the Crow-Bouey combination. Counterfeit Detection on Canadian notes from this era can be accomplished by checking closely to find little green dots called "planchettes" on the note. It is possible to peel them off. Counterfeits had them "drawn" on. Not likely someone is going to counterfeit dollar bills, anyway... Edited by WpgLwr 07/08/2009 4:59 pm Report this Post to the Staff
