Hello all.

I picked a 1853 Seated Half that Breen's refers to as a blundered one. I do not have the breen number with me right now.

(Edited out stating I would not be able to provide pics, pics are down lower)

I do not have a reference books yet on the Seated halves, so if anyone could help me out as to the rarity or value, it would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Jordan

Hi jd

Breens lists the Blundered 1 as a very rare R-6 at least at the time of printing of the Breens catalog, I have no price guide for these either.

I love Breen's... a lot of good material... but just a little outdated. They need to have an updated version.

So R-6 is pretty good, correct?
Next would been extremely rare, then unique?

Got good pics...

1853-O-Seated-Half-Variety

Some of the stars appear to have some sort of doubling. Is this anything special?

And at the second star on the right, there is another die crack:

Heritage has only one attributed example of that coin in their archive. That would tend to indicate a certain degree of rarity, I would think.
