I was wondering what you guys thought this little baby would grade, I know its a VAM-5 O/S broken "S" variety I am just was wondering the grade

The luster strikes me as really funny, but as it is I see an upper-end AU coin.

it just got back home today and you are correct it is a AU-58

I don't think it's quite Mint State, but pretty close although it might be just a typical New Orleans weak strike. Maybe AU-55. If it's determined to be uncirculated, it might go MS-63 or higher; I don't see any serious detracting marks on either side. Is its luster as flat as it looks in the image? If so, it might have been dipped.

As usual, I haven't looked at the other posts. Sorry I'm a little slow getting to this Morgan; I just made another move to yet another campground, always a time-consuming process.

Bryan, is it in a slab? If so, who graded it. AU-58 is perfectly OK and having it in a plastic encapsulation might explain the apparent lack of luster.

its in a NGC slab and they graded it AU-58
