Hi, I recently discovered this medal in a coin collection. It seems to be a depiction of the Liberty Tree of colonial era, but perhaps it is just an ordinary tree. Anybody's guess. If you can tell me any more about it, I'd love to hear it.
It's definitely not Colonial as evident by the design elements as well as the perfect round shape. I would put all my money on a copper or bronze composition, Grade would be approx. VG10 IMO. I really like the woven pattern on the reverse! Most likely a fruit tree and intended as a medal to be worn.
Thanks for the reply. Just to be clear, I didn't think that the medal was from the colonial era, just that it might be a depiction of the Liberty Tree. Probably not. I'd just like to know something more about this medal.
