Starman Valued Member United States 100 Posts	Posted 01/22/2010 1:30 pm After an hour of trying to scan a photo of my 50-D and my 38-61 album I gave up. I bought a 1950-D nickel from my coin dealer it appears to be XF-AU condition with nice eye appeal. It was markerd 12.50 but I got him down to 10. I thought this was a good deal, this is the first coin that I bought for over $5. Any thoughts? Report this Post to the Staff

biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 01/22/2010 2:00 pm $10 for a high circ 1950-D is a decent price and full MS examples can be had for a few dollars more, I have sold a few here on the forum in the $15-18 range. The 1950-D was a heavily hoarded issue so it is actually a little easier to find it in MS than circulated grades as odd as that may seem. Report this Post to the Staff

Chadwick Valued Member United States 271 Posts	Posted 01/26/2010 11:34 pm I bought my first box on nickels last week to start my collection. I was very fortunate, I think. I found one 1950 d and a 1939 p amoung others. I looked for full steps on most all date and didn't bother looking for varieties. One box was a great start. But I was excited to find a 1950 D. I would guess the grade to be somewhere between G and VG, no steps to be seen. But still for a first box, I was pleased. Report this Post to the Staff
