I prefer the Apollo reverse, but the moon on the bicentennial reverse is cool too.

Just got my first Ike, a bicentennial. Not in the greatest condition, but really, is there such a thing as a bad Ike?

Well, I figured a step in any direction is a start so I went to the "local" coin shop, just under 200 miles round trip, and bought the Dansco Eisenhower dollar album. While I was there I picked up a few Ike's and then at another place on the way home a few more Ike's. Nothing serious but thought it would be nice to be able to put some coins in the album just for fun. I've asked questions about these coins here before and thought I had a handle on it or at least thought I was getting the basic gist of things....not so it seems. I started with some Bicentennials and put a 76 type 1 and a 76-D type 1 in their holes. Then grabbed a 76-S and realized I had no clue, I had asked the coin dealer if it was the 40% S thinking that was the definitive description but it turns out there are two 40%er's. The package it was in is this:


So it would go in the "1976-S 40% B.U.? The 1976-S type 1 and 2 will be just regular clad? I'm doing the set in all uncirculated. What would the proof Bicen S be packaged in? what they are calling the "brown" plaques? Geez, maybe I should stick to nickels eh?
