I have a 1975 Mint Set, with the double dated bicentennial coins. Do collectors make a distinction between the coins in a 1975 Mint set, and those from a 1976 mint set? I guess I will put 1975 on the 2x2 for now, was just curious what others do. Here are the 2 Ikes from the set: Report this Post to the Staff
iontyre Valued Member United States 269 Posts	Posted 11/12/2015 12:57 pm 1976 mint set Ike's are of type II; they have much narrower lettering on the reverse. Usually considered another variety for a complete set. Report this Post to the Staff
jbuck Moderator United States 192314 Posts	Posted 11/12/2015 1:55 pm Correct, 1975 mint sets have the Variety 1 reverse, while the 1976 sets will have the Variety 2. Dansco albums, and I am sure Whitman as well, have holes for both varieties. Can you imagine how many: Peg legs, 1972 Type 2, Silver Ikes, Proof Ikes, FEV Ikes, Morgan's, and Peace dollars are hiding in these bags!
