Wow chuckster That's the strongest clashing I've seen on an ike and it's a DDO & DDR to boot. That's gotta be worth a pretty penny! Nice color grimes!

Quote: That is one beautiful, blast white Ike. I personally prefer this to toning (although some toning can be nice). The REV of that 73S just really stands out to me for some reason. Honestly, Earl, the reverse is what really caught my eye on this Ike. It is an upgrade from a 66. The reverse really is stunning, with a brilliant satiny appearance. I love its blast white color too. So many of the Ikes in my set are toned that it actually nice to have one like this in the fold. Here is a close-up picture which may help answer Cascade's question: Quote: is that a wing / earth line clash on the reverse? I'll try to take some close-up shots when it comes in, but it appears that there may indeed be something there. You've got a good eye, Cascade. I'll let you know.

Look under the open wing too. I see the entire back of his head. Now I'm thinking it could be ghosting

Quote: Darth what are you doing with the 66? I was just going to add it to my downgrade inventory, but I may sell it. It's got a nice TrueView photo too, which was good for my registry set.

@ Darth If only Ikes were really as large as that incredible 73S REV pic above shows up on my screen! I'd love to an exact 3 foot diameter of that piece in 3D hanging on a wall to look at and appreciate (in a giant Airtite capsule of course ).

Quote: I see the entire back of his head. Now I'm thinking it could be ghosting Now that I have the coin in hand I can tell you that it is indeed "ghosting" (haven't heard of that term before). Not sure this pic is any better, but it certainly is the outline of Ike's head. It is not a trick of light nor is it a photographic artifact. Also, I checked my other BU silver Ikes, and they have the same thing. The ghosting on my 1974-S is even more pronounced. Thanks for pointing this out.

No worries. I should have guessed it in the beginning though by the overall look and how it goes through the earth

I see what you are referring to. It's a little strange. Can't be a die clash, because Ike's head would be upside down. I'm posting Coop's photo to show what I mean.

Thanks for posting that layered photo, batboy. It gives you a better sense of where the curves are.
