Nice darth. The mirrors certainly do look good. How clear is newsprint at roughly 4", 6" & 8"? With mine I can read it to about 6" then it starts getting fuzzy

The print begins to get hazy between 3" and 4". It looks very similar to the 1971-D in my registry set. That one CAC'd easily, and for good reason. It looks like it was struck on a silver planchet, but it isn't dull like most '71 silver business strike Ikes.

Check these out darth... 3x 76d peg legs! The top one is a true OK (off at the knees) the next two down are not quite OK's but are true abraded peg legs. A progression if you will until it got to a true OK. And just for reference the last pic is a standard 76d "leg"... For those that don't know 76 ikes have natural hub design peg legs (bottom pic) but the true abraded 76d peg legs are quite uncommon I do believe...

Excellent, detailed pics, Cascade. Nice Peg Leg progression. How did you acquire those? Domain555 is gonna love your latest post. Haven't heard from him in a while, though.

They were in that big lot of 400+ I bought a few months ago. It's the stash that keeps on giving. All those talonheads, the fev, a couple more peg legs, the PL. For $1.80 per that was a great lot. Maybe it rely was an SDB stash as advertised

Oh, and I have another set of 76d peg legs just like the 3 up there. 1 more OK and 2 progressions.

Why, is domain into peggers?

I went through 100 Ikes and did not find a single peg leg. Just how rare are these?

Domain beat me to it. Glad to see you back, Domain. I got this Ike in yesterday. I didn't need it, but for under $20 I couldn't resist it. I think any early Ike ('71 or '72) at MS65 for under $20 is a no-brainer, especially if there is nice golden toning involved. The coin looks much better than in the photo. Still not very good at photographing slabs.
