oblakavshtanax, A Talon Head is a type of Die Clash in the Eisenhower dollar Series. Here is a link to a page on the Ike Group web site showing some examples along with how to determine the grade of a Talon Head Die Clash. http://www.ikegroup.org/THa.htmI hope this helps. Terry

1976 P Type 2 reverse with a nice little die crack on the neck. Plus a weird dip in the field just in front of Ike's face between the raised area that can be seen in the photo and Eisenhower's face. Possibly a little to aggressive with a grinder on the die. Who knows. Hopefully an expert can chime in on this. in hand it looks proof-like hard to get that to show up in photos. Terry

Nice coin Terry!
I'm no expert, far from it, but how about a die dent maybe?
Chuck.

Thanks Chuck,
When I first saw the photos that is what I was thinking also is maybe that it was a die dent. But with the coin in hand under a glass I can see polish lines between the raised area on the photo and Ike's face. that same thing continues all the way up to the top of Ike's head between the "E" and "R" of Liberty with the line of polishing getting closer and closer to the bust of Ike. The same type of polishing line that we see on the Peg Leg Ike's in that area Which cannot be seen in the photo.

My latest find- a nice clear 71D Talon Head. You can see the die clash with the naked eye, no loupe needed at all!

WOW Very Nice Chuck Can see that Talon Head a mile away. Have you been over to the Ike Group web site and read about the Copper Nickel (Not Silver) 74 S Proof Micro S Yet that Brian, Herb and Mr Wexler and possibly some others did some research on and learned some cool stuff about? The thread is called 74-S "Micro-S" Die gave birth to twins...A new DIVA is born! Guess what was in the safe last night in the last box of Ike's I spent an hour searching through Pics Below Terry

I got 6 proof Ikes off ebay yesterday for my Dansco album. They had them listed as a package deal so I filled a bunch of spaces at once. The '73 through '78 package included a type I and a type II '76. I can wait to get them in my hands. Pics:
