I have the rhodium-plated Queen Elizabeth II Royal Cypher coin from Canada, and it's a very dramatic black. Not sure how ruthenium compares to it.

Ruthenium is used predominantly in electronics.

@Hondo Very much like the photo of Ike and the Queen.
Not sure about the Ruthenium set. Interesting for sure, maybe if I saw it in hand. Now a Ruthenium with gold highlights (like proof frosting) would be amazing looking to me! Ike, definitely deserving of gold, and the eagle would look great this way IMO.

I agree - great read! Thanks for sharing. Seeing the Queen took time to send Ike a recipe for scones reminds you those were people who lived life from day to day like we all do.
