Wornslick Pillar of the Community United States 1304 Posts	Posted 05/16/2010 2:59 pm I am sitting here looking through some rolls of Dimes when I came across a 1966 that is brown in color. Even the edge is brown. What would cause something like this? It has a little crud on it so I took a toothpick and lightly scraped it away. The color stayed brown and it looked almost like rust. Coins buried for awhile often come up brown. I've also seen cupronickel turn brown if its been submerged in chlorinated pool water for too long.
