Pics are not the best. This a 96 P with what appears to be a die crack or something else running through the highlighted area running into the rim. If you look closely after a while you can make it out. Chukster, down below has a better pic of what he discovered (diff year).

What is it?

Also I found 3 more yesterday which are high AU/BU 98 P's with the same issue along with a lot of pitting and polishing lines around the "in god" area. All of these came from customer rolls. I tried to take pics of the 98 P but the shine / luster is just too bright.

I've actually been meaning to ask about that die crack - I'm not 100% sure, but I think all the 96P's I've found have it. At least enough for it to seem that way.

That is a die crack and probably about 50% of the 96Ps I have contain this die crack, so it's very common on 96P. Other dates, much less so, but I've seen it on other mid-to late 90s as well, and in that same spot.
