I just got this 2001 P dime in my change a few days ago, and I must say that I have never seen a die break quite like this in circulation before. So what kind of value would you place upon this coin given it that it is probably in upper AU condition?

I love it! I am always looking for dramatic cracks. I don't know the value. Perhaps one of the others can answer that.

Shazam!

This coin would be worth strong money, but only to a very obsessivespecialized collector. Without the break, it's worth ten cents. With the break, well, I'd throw a $20 bill at the owner as hard as I could.

Thanks for the help, everyone! I was quite happy to get this in my change a few days ago. I just wonder where this was until now and why no one had pulled it out of circulation at least as a curiosity.

That is an awesome die break, I cannot imagine too many more were minted after that one.
