Man-o-man...I picked up a pair of 2010 piedfort "fighting Kangaroos". I really like these coins. They are shaped kinda like the UHR gold double eagle. Thought I'd share if you haven't seen them.

In terms of inspiration, I think the U.S. Mint provided that for the Australian coin here. That inspiration, I believe, is in the form of the dumpy gold 1 ounce St Gaudens bullion piece of 2009.

Nice pies. I take it they're uniface? Why are they called coins? Is the Roo now a denomination? Honest questions, I dont do Aussy much.
