This is not an ancient coin. It appears to be a coin struck by the British East India Company as indicated by the VEC monogram. I'm not sure of the date, but it's more likely to be early 19 th century. Sap might have a better idea.
For a colonial Indian copper, it actually catalogues higher than I expected ($28.50 in Fine condition in my old 2002 edition 1700s Krause). This coin has quite a bit of detail missing, but the detail that is there seems to be in fairly good shape. I'd guess somewhere in the $20 to $40 range for your piece today.
