Looks like MD to me but the pics are too grainy for anything more than a guess..the doubling looks flat so I went with MD

If the date AND the mintmark are doubled, it is usually Strike Doubling. Here is a nice guide:

Given that the secondary image on that is low and close to the field and the mintmark is doubled, I would say with pretty high certainly it is an MD

Looks like Machine Doubling to me as well. Keep looking though, there are some nice 1972-d doubled dies our there to be found. I will try to post pictures of two recent finds once I get home after the weekend. I find that the best pick up point (pup) for 1972-d DDO #1 is nice doubling on the lower bar of the 2 (in addition to other areas). Again, coppercoins has great pictures of these. Good luck!
