I received in the mail yesterday not one, but TWO postcards from molydeii. They arrived on the same day, so I assume that what is happened is she forgot about the first one she had mailed in the morning and mailed me a second that afternoon The First card features a famous landmark, The Mosque of Valide Sultan (Queen Mother) and also called Yeni Cami (New Mosque) that was finished in 1663 (oh it's new all right). It was commissioned by Safiye, mother of Sultan Mehmet III in 1597 In 1663 my ancestors were 1)stealing horses in France 2)painting themselves up and fighting with the English and a few were here in Canada trapping beaver. The second card is a shot of London all lit up. Thank you for the cards Moly the stamps are beautiful. Please tell us what you have drawn on the first card there, it's quite unique.

Murazor, I've been picking some Polish silver coins lately and it takes on average 10-11 days for me to get them. Not slow at all really. I expect it here in around 14 days on averge.

Nice card in from DBM featuring a piece of Canadian scenery I personally love. When I was working for one company they'd shuffle me all around the province to handle emergencies and I spent a lot of time on the ferries. Great view The back features a poignant reminder/forcast on the future of one of the most collected coins in Canada. thanks DBM.

The view on the postcard is what I see from the window beside my desk.My wife works on the ferry and lucky for me her office is in the interior of the ship so there's no way she can look back and see me here on a Saturday morning sorting through coins instead of installing the new toilet. BTW,thanks for the contest Ugly,it's one you don't have to win or even particpate to enjoy,

Nice card in from Murazor in Poland. This picture is of a quite famous local legend, The Wawel Dragon (in Polish: Smok Wawelski), also known as the Dragon of Wawel Hill, is a famous dragon in Polish folklore. He laired in a cave at the foot of Wawel Hill on the bank of the Vistula River. Wawel Hill is in Kraków, which was then the capital of Poland. In some stories the dragon lived before the founding of the city, when the area was inhabited by farmers. Wikipedia Thanks Murazor, it took 7 days from your forum post to now, so how long did it take? Great stamps too, I love this!

One week - quite a good time. For the card: the dragon statue standing by the Wawel hill really breaths fire (it has a gas burner inside its mouth). And it's one of the characteristic meeting points in Cracow: "Let's meet by the dragon at 5."

Wow, the clock is ticking down on this now, I think there is one more card in transit to me and next Monday we draw. We've had excellent participation this year and I'm very pleased by the wide variety. I'll need to use another method to select best card prize this year than I did last year. Maybe a panel of judges if anyone is up for it.

How about each participant get one vote (can't vote for yourself) and the card w/ the most vote win (you will be the tie breaker)?

We can do that... maybe a vote off, poll the entrants and get to a top three and then vote from there. That way the vote isn't too badly split at the final decision point.

Friday mail in from YoungCoinCollector. Barring any last minute arrivals on Monday this may be the final card of the contest. The front features a famous myth that has long been perpetuated on city slickers by country folk for a laugh and the rear a drawing of the recent silver market activity. Thanks for the entry!

Was the rapture late by a week? Or is it like the old Canadian tradition? Polls and pubs can't be open at the same time
