What Kind Of Detector Should I Buy?

Dockwalliper Valued Member United States 342 Posts	Posted 10/05/2006 4:31 pm The Garrett Ace 250 seems to be the hot detector in that price range, about $220 US. Turn on and go, good on different conditions, decent depth. I suggest you get headphones and a good digger if you plan on doing "alot" a detecting. Report this Post to the Staff

pat44 Valued Member Canada 96 Posts	Posted 10/11/2006 6:36 pm Hey Pattie..all. Well from my experience White's XLT is the best out there...but it's around $800 us. Now they have the DFX..around $1200 us. I have used the XLT and it's one trustworthy machine...very easy to use..and the depth is very good too. I heard people finding ancient coins at around 2 feet deep and more in highly mineralised soil. Also it has several programs..one for coins..another for jewellery...there are two or three more preprograms that comes with it. You can also program it the way you want..like tell it to accept this ..and ignore that. Fascinating machine. I give it 5 stars. Regards, Patrick Report this Post to the Staff
