2002-D LMC Strange Coloration Cause(S)?

This one popped out of a roll into a huge bucket of other LMCs and immediately looked odd, color-wise. I have seen discoloration before, but nothing quite this severe. It has a "pea-green metallic" look to it which I havent yet seen. ideas? Thanks!

Yeah, looks like one of those brass plated cents that seem to pop up now and again.I have about a dozen of them.The big problem is that they are easy to fake so people have pretty much dismissed them.I still save mine

The two outer coins are copper, the center coin is zinc with copper plating. That color is more common than uncommon
