No. From what I've heard, they're really not worth that much. It would probably cost more to have it graded than what the coin would bring.

Are you sure that's not one of coops overlays?

That's a pretty intense clash. I would think that would command more of a premium than your typical clash.

... great clash indeed ... but something unusual about the post ...

The OP claims it is not graded ... but the coin shown is in what appears to be a TPG holder.

How do you explain that Design_Guy?

I usually keep all favorite coins in plastic coin holders; Inexpensive and it protects them well. Here's the picture before I cropped it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/260239.../5567166210/

I've sold several crisp, early clashes recently. They've ranged in price between $20 and $35. BUT- this is for the earliest, sharpest clashes, like this '93. Very nice and crisp. TPG holder wouldn't help this coin at all.

At least you got to it before they did!

This shows the lengths that they are willing to go through to remove it. Look how heavily polished this die is and they still couldn't quite get rid of it all.

That's a perfect example to show what I was describing Scooby, thanks. A clashed die is desirable when it's crisp and sharp, but when the clash has either worn down or was mostly polished off the die, there's little to no collector interest. Both extremes shown in this thread, interesting and educational. Great thread, Thanks!

Sweet looking clash. Probably the first coin after the clash happened. I've never found that nice in circulation. A real keeper!

very cool find. I am a bit jealous. I have never found a clash that distinct.
