OK, I've done the math... (which is not my strong point) Assuming it gets sold, ebay would take some $15,000 in final value fees. That still leaves the seller with just under $985,000 profit. Each time they list it, it costs $3.50. On ten-day listings, that means they'd have to keep relisting it for the next 7,705 years before they're guaranteed to make a loss; if someone actually buys it before then, they make a profit. I guess they're gambling that someone in the intervening millenia will buy their story and place a bid? Unless it's just a gimmick to attract customers to the clothing and other stuff they have for sale... the "any publicity is good publicity" theory. The reverse happened on ebay germany somebody bought a house for a few thousand euro because nobody believe the offer was real and the vendor did not put a reserve in the auction Last I heard buyer and seller took lawyers and are going to have fun in court since there is probably no jurisprudence sofar Imagine a good house for 5000 dollars  |

Well, ebay can be a great place to sell things, but if you don't know what you're doing, you can lose a lot of money, or like the house guy, get into a lawsuit that costs a lot more. sigh, some people |
