DVCollector, Quote:I roll-searched over 10 years for a 1970-S LMC "small date". I never found one, despite rolls having as many as three 70-S cents each. don't give up. I found one roll searching not too long ago so they are out there. Good luck John1

Well, now that you got the crummy unlucky boxes out the way, it's time to search MORE pennies!
Don't unroll them, just spend them as is at stores where they need pennies. I can't believe your bank won't accept its own roll-jobs - what does that tell you...

My last box. Zip, zero, nada. Two upgrades, that's it. Then I called the bank to order another box and they had placed their order early because of the holiday weekend. So I'm stuck with it until next Friday!

I think I posted this story before but I asked for about 10 rolls of nickels at the bank and when she set them on the counter I could see a buffalo on one end. It was really dirty and when I flipped the roll over it had a 42' Jefferson on the other end. I thought I had a great roll. I called a friend after I left the bank and told him about it. I couldn't wait to get home so I pulled over and opened it. I had the 42' then.......96'98'77'03'01, crap! Not as good as I thought. When I got to the buffalo I turned it over and 05' What!! It was dirty old pond coin turned black by the water. Wont count my chickens early anymore. I cashed it back in later when I dumped my change. A month or so later my brother came in and said do you want any of this change? There was the same nickel. I took it as a sign and kept it this time.

My worst was finding a solid roll of F+ V nickels.

Nothing too dramatic but I remember one box of halves I searched that was a skunk on silver to begin with. To make matters worse, a few of the rolls had other coins that had slipped in where halves should be....dimes, quarters, pennies. I think the box came up $5 short or so between the wrong coins and what the coin counter determined when I dumped them. At that point I decided I didn't want to search half boxes any longer and haven't since.

Mine was where I serched two rolls and turned them in, but wasnt paying attention and only got a $10 from the bank. The bad thing was that the bank was about 40 miles from my house so going back to get the rest would not have been worth it.

Every time I ever roll searched. I've gotten 12 boxes of halves and full dollars. Never once got a 90% coin. The best I ever found was a single 40% kennedy.
So yeah I dont bother anymore lol.

My most disappointing (and worst) roll-searching experience was when I searched, like $4 or $5 worth of cents, and nearly every roll was full of crusty, dusty, nasty, zinc-rotted zinc cents. Yuk! Thought I was going to get a disease or something afterwards... Also, a close runner up was when I searched $30 something dollars worth of nickels once, and all I got were 3 pre-1960 nickels (none were War Nickels).
