I got this coin in the early 80's in some change. I think it might be from Iran. If it is what year.

The coin is from Iran and is 5 rials. Can't really see the date since there is a small hole at the first part of the date.

Looks like 1342, luckily the hole was drilled only through the first 2 digits of the date, that corresponds to 1963, BTW its a 5 rials Iran KM1175a Cu-Ni, 7.8 million minted

Thank you very much for the info. I dont know why the hole is drilled in it. thats the way it was when I got it.

Someone probably used it as a pendant judging from the location of the hole.

Yes, you get the lion with the sword on one side of the pendant, and you get a heart on the other side - actually the numeral "5" in Persian-style Arabic.
