I moved this post to the Modern US Variety & Error Coins forum.
I want to make a comment on why this topic (and many others like it) get moved to a different forum. It has to do with attracting more commentary, especially for the more knowledgeable members. That is, many of the experts frequent their specialized forums more often than the less focused or unrelated forums.
Briken post of the center of the mint mark. Nothing special. Just one of the ways the die is showing it's age. Not filled, just not shapped because of the lack of the post that would have formed the center of the mint mark.
Even if it was worn, the deeper center part would be there. It is just a post that broke off the die and leaving that area not formed like were are used to seeing it.
