I have been wanting to take some shots of it ever since I purchased it a couple of years ago. From a local coin shop I love the kind of purplish red toning on this one. But I am certain that it is not plated. I have a few high mint condition 43 Lincoln's and the surface textures are the same it is just that I believe this particular one was stored before it came into my possession in some kind of holder that it reacted with to give it that toning. just carl Bedrock of the Community United States 20753 Posts	Posted 07/24/2011 10:04 am I doubt it was plated since most plated ones do not have that excessive detailing. Note the line details on the Reverse in the wheats. Just to clear to be a plated one. Most of the plated ones too have suspect lettering where they appear to be smudged. Nice coin.
