Sidekick-CA Pillar of the Community United States 509 Posts	Posted 07/24/2011 2:45 pm I received this coin already attributed as VM #93 which I wasn't able to cross-reference but the obv/rev legends are identical to the 2nd coin shown below which is listed on Wildwinds as RIC VII 188 Constantine AE3. The weight/size seem within the ballpark; mine being .7g lighter and smaller by .73mm. Wildwinds notes in their text section "cf" RIC 188 which I believe means not exactly or close? I haven't heard that name in a while and I'll bet anyone younger than say 50 won't have ever heard of the name. Your coin and the the picture look very much the same. If there is a slight difference in the nose (and I don't see it), it is probably just a die difference. I believe you have attributed the coin appropriately. Regards Report this Post to the Staff
aboarman Valued Member United States 132 Posts	Posted 07/27/2011 12:13 am This looks to be the same issue, however, the officina is different than the one in the photo, I believe. It looks like your coin's exergue reads "SMN epsilon" indicating officina "E" Also, if you look at the base of the standards, the stems point upwards at a tight angle to the poles. Check out the soldier on the left. On your coin, he appears to be standing contrapposto, and the one on the right is posing like a JCP catalog model. Finally, if you look at the uniforms on the soldiers, they are different. Your soldiers appear to have a strap running diagonally across their chests, possibly attached to some sort of satchel.
