Die cracks/chips/breaks/cuds happen during the dies life. The finding of the first three seldom bring extra value for the coin. But a Cud does carry a premium depending on denomination/demand. Machine Doubling is caused by the machinery and not by doubling on the die. A doubled die is harder to find than Machine Doubling. With some denominations having so many machine doubled examples being found, a normal one is hardered to find. A doubled die has doubled devices on the die. Report this Post to the Staff

I ask because I have a roll of BU 73"s and most of them seem doubled to me...I don't know of its a worn die issue, or if they're really that common..I'll post pics in a few because I may be totally wrong Report this Post to the Staff
