Thai one was more than just a little difference. 2019 Philippines 5 piso. People were confusing the 5 piso for the 1 piso coin, so late in 2019 it was redesigned as nonagonal (9 sided). Same size, same weight, same metal.

Mexico 20 Centavos 1907 - Straight 7: Mexico City Mint. Mexico 20 Centavos 1907 - Curved 7: New Orleans Mint. Note: this was the only time coins were minted in New Orleans for a foreign government.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I don't have a corresponding normal coin but here is a Brazil `10 centavos 1994 where the date partially appears abpve the head on the obverse as well as in the normal place on the reverse. It's now cited in Numista - https://en.numista.com/2822, and the variety itself os lower down the page.

@Pertinax: That looks like a die clash to me (or maybe a vise job), Notice that it is raised and upside down and backwards. not an intentional alteration of a coin done at the mint. Older Belgian coins are a great example where they mint a coin with French text and another with Belgian text on the same year coin issues. The following quote is taken from page 1: Quote:Quote: How little of a change are you looking for Trig? Anything Keith, as long as it's a distinctly different coin, not an error.
