1888 Indian Head Penny 8 Over 7 Error?

Ill try to get pics through transfer by usb or memory card. I tried via usb cord but failed to get anything except a blue screen. I have to look into exactly how to do it. Thanks for everyone's insight so far.

It does look like an over date, but hard to tell from the photos provided. There seems to be a diagnostic partial Cud by the E D in united. I hope you post better pictures of the 8. Include a reverse picture. The top points of the shield should be connected to the denticles according to Rick Snow.

I am going to make a new post with pics transferred from usb I guess to maybe be on people's radar better. I am new to this forum, and I cannot figure out how to delete posts. Here are some pics transferred directly from USB. There may be some blur because of how the scope moves when pushing the button to capture the image. I selected 4 images from each three indicator spots in question (the last 8, the " Cud" above "UNITED", and the next to last feather) with each progressive photo being more magnified (ie 1x 2x 3x 4x) so there's 12 new images.

Im surprised that no one has mentioned this before,
a 1888/7 is not an error, it is a variety, big difference.

Looking at your latst pictures, I do not thik it is a variety, the top
left marker does not appear to be the same. Even the newer
pictures do not show the upper right marker that clearly. The
bottom of the eight could be damage.
Unless the markers are very clear, a TPG will not attribute it
regardless of other markers.

Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to this post. I've had some health stuff and surgery and about forgot about this. I took some more pics to include the reverse side near the top of the shield. I am unfamiliar as to how this helps with identification so please forgive me for overlooking that before. Its still hard to not get some blurring because the coin microscope has a physical, "analog" button that you have to push to capture an image, and it makes it nearly impossible to not have movement with the microscope. Thanks again for the time taken for your replies.

***(I renamed the files to "1888IndianHeadShield..." with successive numbers at the end, but somehow that didn't save during me moving them from the drive to the site. If I can figure out how to rename then on this site, I will do that.)

Posting to hopefully bring this topic back to the active posts. I would really like some info and opinions if it is the overdate error. I would like to send it in to a grading company,but have never done that and nervous about the whole process. I remember seeing a video of one guy who sent a coin in and the coin he got back looked nothing like the one he sent in appearing that they switched coins on him. I wish there were a place where you could go in person and get it graded or authenticated. Any help about grading companies and the coin overall are greatly appreciated. Have a great day everyone.

Not 100% sure but I think that it has a good chance so
I would send it in to be graded. If it is a 1888/7, then
being graded would give you a better chance of selling it.
Also it is not considered an error, it a variety, big difference.
