Hi everyone! I recently found a 2024 Canadian $2 Toonie featuring King Charles III with noticeable metal accumulation on the vertical lines of the virtual image security feature, along with an uneven, distorted rim directly above the same area. The accumulation and rim irregularity appear close together, and I'm wondering whether they could be related.

I've attached close-up photographs and would appreciate your opinions. Has anyone seen a similar coin, and could this be a minting error?

Many thanks!

I've recently seen something similar, 198725990072
The "accumulations" are a normal part of the security feature.
The rim has $38 worth of damage?
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

to the CCF

Always supply a complete photo of the coin when making inquires.
You could have just added the one from your ebay listing.
The rim looks like it may be damage and the metal accumilations
are fairly common. Neither is considered an error or add any value.

It looks like the OP's coin is the same as ebay's.

Bill,
It is the same Toonie. Notice that the price has dropped from $40.00 to $20.00.
Won't say anything about the price of this or his other coins as he is entitled
to sell for whatever he wants.
