Well, it's not my birthday or anything else like that, but I got this Arcadius in the mail today and I wanted to show it off. I purchased it sometime ago. I am rather pleased with it. I have it attributed as RIC X 94, Cyzicus mint, 401-403 AD: OBV: D N ARCADIVS P F AVG, helmeted, diademed & cuirassed bust facing, holding spear & shield REV: CONCORDIA AVGG, Constantinopolis seated facing, head right, holding Victory on globe & sceptre, right foot on stern of a galley, SMKA in ex. 2.6g, 18mm   |

That's a nice example JW.
Seems like a lot of these we see are quite worn and poor flans. All your legends are there and the mint mark and it's a facing bust.

That's a nice coin. I do like the style of the design. I saw one awhile back that was similar that I was thinking about purchasing. I also have a Honorius with the facing bust portrait.

Hi very very nice...and the facing bust is even better for me...it's difficult for me to buy a late roman coin with facing bust.I have only byzantine in this way....

Was this an ebay auction JW? maybe from a couple of weeks ago? The coin looks very familiar, I think I may have bid or meant to but forgotten. |

Yes, it was an ebay auction that ended 02/04/2011. It went for a cheap price is why I was able to get it. The auction ended at $6. I think that's not too bad a deal, eh? |

Yeah, sounds about right - I was watching also thinking it was cheap and I don't have a facing bust. I'm still trying not to buy so must have not bothered, good price  |
