ND Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC Capped Die Strike

sourdough New Member United States 37 Posts	Posted 07/06/2014 2:56 pm This is kind of an oddball LMC capped die strike. The cap seems to have been indented by a blank planchet at sometime previous to this strike. Opinions welcome. Report this Post to the Staff

The area to the left of the curved line looks to shallow to be a conventional indent. It's often the case that capped die strikes present puzzling textures and topographies. sourdough New Member United States 37 Posts	Posted 07/06/2014 5:03 pm The indent referred to I believe to have occurred several strikes previous to this one. I'm wondering what the extraneous metal on the right-hand border of the old indent is, if not another dislodged cap such as Halo1st described. Mike, I think you have seen this next pic previously (one of my coins). I believe you said it was a CDS with a blank planchet causing the indent, upon which I readily concur.
